While getting ready for a fishing trip to Wyoming, I needed to make sure that I purchased a valid fishing license for my upcoming fishing adventures. Initially, I wasn’t sure how much they would cost or where to buy one.

So I did some research on fishing licenses in Wyoming and have put together this quick guide with what I found.

So, how much does a Wyoming fishing license cost? An annual Wyoming fishing license costs $27 dollars for residents and $102 dollars for nonresidents. A daily Wyoming fishing license is $6 dollars for residents and $14 dollars for nonresidents.

However much like other states Wyoming offers different price points and discounts, depending on the length of the license and residency status.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has come out with a great fishing program called the: Master Angler. The Master Angler Program recognizes anglers that catch trophy sized fish from Wyoming waters.

Once you catch a qualifying trophy fish and enter your catch at the Game and Fish website, you will be awarded a Master Angler decal of that species.

After you have caught five qualified species, you’ll earn the Trophy angler award coin and if you catch ten qualifying species you will be awarded the Ultimate Angler Award.

Wyoming Cutt-Slam

Another great Wyoming fishing program is the Cutt-Slam. This program helps anglers learn more about Wyoming’s cutthroat trout subspecies and helps preserve and enhance fishing resources.

To participate in the Cutt-Slam program you just need to catch each of the four cutthroat trout subspecies in their native Wyoming waters. Then send in a clear photo with the date and location of the catch.
