How Does California Classify Residency?

California classifies “any person who had resided continuously in the State of California for six months or more immediately before the date of their application for a license or permit, any person on active military duty with the Armed Forces of the United States or auxiliary branch thereof, or any person enrolled in the Job Corps” as a resident. Validation And Report Cards

According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, report cards are required for any person who fishes for:

  • Steelhead

Free Fishing Days

Should you be a resident in California, or just a non-resident who happen to be in California, you will be able to fish without a fishing license on the following days:
